Connect to a new booking channel

Before connecting a new channel, please inform your online travel agent (OTA) that you are using SiteMinder as your channel manager. During the connection process, we will ask you to input your channel account details such as the 'hotel code'.

To connect to a new booking channel:

  1. Click CHANNELS

  2. Click Connect New Channel in the upper-right of the Channel Manager and select the Channel that you wish to connect. (If you would like to add a channel that is not integrated with SiteMinder, please refer to this form.)

  3. Complete the five steps in the channel connection wizard.

Channel Connection Wizard

Five steps in the channel connection wizard:

  1. Channel selection - select channel from dropdown list

  2. Channel settings - settings may differ from channel to channel. Please make sure to add the correct credentials.

  3. Currency - select a currency from the dropdown list

  4. Rate multiplier (optional) - only enter a value here if the channel requires rate modification to handle tax/commissions.

  5. Summary - review the details you have entered and click Finish

Depending on the channel, it will either be displayed directly under Active Channels and you can commence mapping your room rates to the channel, or the channel will appear under "Channels awaiting setup", in which case our Support Team will send an email to you shortly once the connection is active. Steps will be provided on how to map your room rates.

Channel Activation

Once a connection is activated, you may commence mapping your room rates to the channel. The activated channel will be listed in the Active Channels list under CHANNELS.

  2. Select the channel you want to edit

Remove a Channel

Should you wish to disconnect a channel from the channel manager, you must first contact the channel directly and ask them to remove the connection.

Once the connection is deactivated, a supervisor user needs to email the support team requesting a complete removal of the channel from Channel Manager.

Please note: Should you choose to delete a channel, updates for this channel will no longer be sent. Room rate mappings and data will also be permanently lost.
You will no longer be able to view any reservations previously received from the deactivated channel in Channel Manager.

Removing a booking channel does not automatically end your subscription to that channel. You will need to contact the booking channel directly if you no longer wish to sell your rooms with them.

Re-order channels display

You can customise the display order of your channels in the Channel Manager.

To change the order of your channels:

  1. Click CHANNELS

  2. Click the Re-order button in the upper-right of the screen to enable edit mode

  3. Click and drag a channel name to change its place in the channel order

  4. Click the Re-order button again to disable edit mode

Any changes to the channel order will be reflected throughout the Channel Manager.

TripAdvisor Instant Booking

TripConnect instant booking is an easy-to-activate channel, but it works slightly differently than other channels. TripAdvisor uses all settings in channel manager to update your information on TripAdvisor's website.

More information on TripAdvisor Instant Booking is available via the following links:

TripAdvisor setup in channel manager, fields marked with the "*" are required.

User-added image

The process of connecting to TripAdvisor Instant Booking requires detailed information about your property and available rooms. You will need to map your rooms before completing TripAdvisor's self sign-up process.

There is a 24 - 48 hour wait from the time you enabled the channel in the Channel Manager before completing the self sign-up on TripAdvisor.

This is because a list of enabled properties is sent to TripAdvisor every 24 hours. Your property must be on the list before you can complete the self sign up wizard.

TripAdvisor's self sign-up wizard can be accessed here.

To complete the form choose RDX / SiteMinder as your 'Connectivity Partner'. Upon the successful completion of the Self-Signup Wizard your hotel will be live on the channel within 24hrs.
