Non-guaranteed bookings
When a reservation is made with a non-guaranteed status , it means that the hotel agrees to hold the room until a certain time (e.g. 6 p.m.) on the day of arrival. If the guest fails to arrive by this time, the hotel is free to release the room.
Please be aware that if guests do not arrive/check-in on or before the time you set, you can release the room but the inventory will not be adjusted automatically. You must adjust your room availability either in your booking engine's inventory yourself, or if applicable in your channel manager's inventory.
If you enable this for a room rate until a certain time on the day of arrival, customers can either chose to book this without having to input their credit card information, or they have the choice to tick a checkbox to select that they want to guarantee a booking.
A guaranteed booking means that guests will have to enter payment card details to complete the booking process, securing the room no matter what time the guests arrive, whereas a non-guaranteed reservation does not ask them to fill in their credit card information.
Please note: If you have a deposit set up for a room rate with non- guaranteed bookings enabled, the credit card input form will always display during check-out.
Enabling/Disabling non-guaranteed bookings
To enable non-guarantee bookings:
In your booking engine's Setup tab, click on the Rooms & Rates tile
Click on the room rate you wish to edit
In the room rate details, tick the Enable late check-in guarantee on booking form box on the right side
From the Guarantee Room Until drop-down list, select until what time you will hold the room for this customer
Click Save
Please note: If you select " Always " under Guarantee Room Until, the booking engine will not give guests the option to guarantee the booking by inputting their credit card information. The credit card input form will not be displayed at all.
However, if deposits are enabled for this room rate, the credit card form will always display, regardless of what time you have selected under Guarantee Room Until.
To disable non-guarantee bookings:
In your booking engine's Setup tab, click on the Rooms & Rates tile
Click on the room rate you wish to edit
In the room rate details, untick the Enable late check-in guarantee on booking form box on the right side
Click Save
