Add Google Analytics 4 to monitor your website's performance in Website Builder. This helps you track:
Website traffic and visitor behaviour
Marketing campaign success
Conversion rates and ROI
Source attribution for bookings
Set up Google Analytics 4
To create your property:
Log in to Google Analytics 4.
Click Admin.
Click Create Property.
Enter your website name.
Select your timezone and currency.
Click Show advanced options.
Enable Create a Universal Analytics property.
Enter your website URL.
Select Create a Universal Analytics property only.
Click Next.
To add business information:
Select your Industry category (example: Travel).
Enter your Business Size (Small: 1-10, Medium: 11-100, Large: 101-500, or Very Large: 501+ employees).
Choose to measure customer engagement.
Choose to optimise site experience.
Choose to track advertising performance.
Choose to monitor conversions.
Choose to analyse online sales.
Click Create.
Go to the Install Manually tab.
Copy your Google Tag.
Add to Website Builder
Now that you have your Google Tag, you'll need to add it to Website Builder to start tracking your website data. Website Builder uses the Third-party widget feature to connect with Google Analytics 4.
To add your Google Tag:
In Website Builder, go to Advanced Settings.
Click Third-party widget.
Enter your Google Tag.
Click Save.
Click Publish changes.
💡 Note:
If you have other widgets installed, be careful not to overwrite existing code when adding your Google Tag.
If you're migrating from Universal Analytics, go to All Accounts in Google Analytics 4, select your account, choose Migrating from Universal Analytics, and follow the prompts to complete your migration.
Test your integration
When you first set up Google Analytics 4, your dashboard will show "No data received from your website yet". Test your connection after 60 minutes to ensure Website Builder is sending data correctly.
After setting up:
Wait about 60 minutes for changes to publish.
Open your public website (example:www.yourhotel.com).
Browse several pages to generate traffic.
Check your Google Analytics 4 dashboard.
Look for the message "Your website's data collection is active".
