How to view and manage your Inventory via the Distribution tab in the SiteMinder mobile app.

Important to know:

  • The SiteMinder mobile app is available for free with the latest versions of iOS and Android on both smartphones and tablets. To download and install it, simply search ‘SiteMinder’ on the App Store or Play Store, or click on these links on your device: iOS device (App Store) or Android device (Play Store).

  • The SiteMinder Mobile app gives you the flexibility to perform single and bulk updates for rooms, rates and restrictions while on the go. To view and manage your availability, rates, and restrictions, go to the Distribution tab.

Introduction to the Distribution tab

The SiteMinder mobile app allows you to quickly view and manage your property’s day-to-day availability, pricing and restrictions on the go, helping to increase efficiency and giving you every opportunity to optimise inventory across your connected channels.

To view and manage your availability, rates, and restrictions, go to the Distribution tab. Scroll across to see your inventory across 736 days, or view a specific date by tapping on the date picker. To go back to the present date, tap the calendar icon.

You can update your rates, availability and restrictions for specific dates, or use the Bulk edit button to apply updates for multiple dates at once.

Note:

  • Admin users or general users with Distribution - Inventory permissions can access the Distribution tab.

  • You cannot view past dates.

Filter inventory

Tap on the All rates & availabilities drop-down to filter by:

  • All rates & availabilities — shows all room types and their room rates’ prices and availability, including derived rates. This is the default view, unless you have set another one as favourite.

  • Manual rates & availabilities — shows all room types and their room rates’ prices and availability. Derived rates are hidden.

  • Availabilities only — all available room types and their availability. This filter hides prices and unavailable room types.

  • Restrictions — Stop sell, Close to arrival, Close to departures, Min length of stays, or Max length of stays.

You can also filter by certain Room types, Rate plans or Channels by tapping on each drop-down.

To view the details for a channel rate, tap on the channel name. You will see the following details:

  • Rates derived — the room rate the channel rate is derived from.

  • Rate modification — the rate multiplier, if applicable.

  • Mapped to details — the channel and room rate it is mapped to.

  • Any channel errors, if applicable.

Note:

  • When you tap on a channel name, depending on the filter selected on the All rates & availabilities drop-down menu, you will also be shown the option to apply a change for today only, or make a quick update to rates, availability, or restrictions across all your channels for your preferred selection of days.

  • Set a favourite view by tapping on the star to the right of the filter.

  • To see what each colour and symbol on the inventory grid represents, tap on the question mark icon on the top right of your screen to view the legend.

Update rates, availability and restrictions

Easily make manual updates to rates, availability and restrictions (Stop sell, Close to arrival, Close to departures, Min length of stays, or Max length of stays) via the Distribution tab in the SiteMinder mobile app.

Derived rates will be greyed out as they cannot be manually changed in the inventory grid.

Update a specific date on the inventory grid

You can update rates, availability and restrictions directly on the inventory grid for a specific date. Use the drop-down filters relevant to what you are updating, then locate the date and room type, room rate, or channel rate you want to apply changes to.

The filters and steps vary depending on what is being updated:

  • Availability — select either All rates & availabilities or Manual rates & availabilities from the drop-down menu, tap on the current availability value, enter the new availability value, and tap Save.

  • Rates — select either All rates & availabilities, Manual rates & availabilities, or Availabilities only from the drop-down menu, tap on the current rate, enter the new rate, and tap Save.

  • Restrictions — select either Stop sell, Close to arrival, Close to departures, Min length of stays, or Max length of stays from the All rates & availabilities drop-down menu, tap on the current restriction value, enter the new restriction value or enable/disable its toggle, then tap Save.

Bulk edit

The Bulk edit button is a useful option when you need to make multiple updates at once, or updates across multiple date ranges.

  1. In your SiteMinder mobile app, go to the Distribution tab.

  2. Tap on the Bulk edit button.

  3. Tap Set and select either Availability , Rates, Close to arrivals, Close to departures, Stop sell, Min. length of stays or Max. length of stays from the drop-down menu.

  4. Enter the new value in the To field, or if setting a Stop sell or Close to arrivals/Close to departures, enable/disable the toggle.

  5. Select a Date range, and select certain days, if required. (To select more than one range, click on the Add another date range button.)

  6. In the Apply to section, tick the room types, room rates, or channel rates you want to update.

  7. Tap Save.

Note:

  • Tap on the down arrow of a room rate to display its channel room rates.

  • Derived rates will not have a tick box because they cannot be updated manually via the Inventory grid (they will be automatically updated when the rate they are linked to is updated).
