Managing direct bookings through multi-property rate plans

Our platform enables you to set up and manage your property portfolio’s direct booking engines in bulk from a single platform, saving you both time and hassle.

The process is simple:

  1. Create a multi-property rate plan

  2. Assign that multi-property rate plan to one or more properties

  3. Set up and distribute your multi-property rate plans by following the instructions in this series of articles

We will start by looking at the first step in this process.

  4. Look for the Direct booking section and click on its Manage button.

  5. Go to the Config tab.

  6. Review and configure your settings (as explained in the sections below).

  7. If you want to change any of these settings, click on the Edit button.

  8. To change any settings, click on the Edit button.

  9. Once complete, click Save.

Audience

First, set up the following:

  • Primary language — select the most frequently used language across your properties’ direct booking engines.

Advertised content

Once the Primary language has been selected, enter the following:

  • Name — add the name of the room rate (the one visible on your properties’ direct booking engines).

  • Description — add an appealing description of what the room rate offers.

  • Add a translation — add the necessary translations for the rate plan's Name and Description (if you use multiple languages across your properties’ direct booking engines).

💡 Note:

  • You cannot complete the Name and Description fields if a Primary language has not been set up.

  • Some properties may have a different Primary language in the SiteMinder platform compared to the one you have selected in this section, in which case you need to enter translated text via Add a translation.

  • If a multi-property rate plan’s Name and Description are not written in the property’s Primary language, the room rate will not be distributed through the mapped direct booking engines.

Maximum advance booking dates

The Maximum advance booking dates option lets you limit how long before check-in or check-out a room rate can be booked. It is the opposite of the Release period option, which enables you to restrict the sale of your rooms prior to guest arrival for a set number of days.

The Maximum advance booking dates option is usually used for last-minute room rates, whereas the Release period option is often used for advance purchase room rates.

If you enable Maximum advance booking dates, ensure you complete the following fields:

  • Restriction type — add the number of days a guest can book the room rate prior to their check-in or check-out dates.

  • Before check-in /check-out date — select either Before check-in date or Before check-out date from the drop-down menu.

Dynamic discounts
