💡Important to know:

  • To set up and customise the questions on your property’s Check-in form, go to Check-in > Check-in form.

This article covers the various Preset questions and Custom questions that can be added to your property’s Check-in form.

There are two different types of questions that can be added to your property’s Check-in form:

  • Preset questions — create questions for which certain answers (such as First name) may be autofilled using reservation data.

  • Custom questions — create questions based on the types of answers you require.

Preset questions

Here are the types of Preset questions you can add to your property’s Check-in form (some of which may be autofilled using reservation data):

  • First name and Last name

  • Email address — this field will apply a validation rule to ensure that the guest has entered a valid email address.

  • Phone number

  • Address, Country, City, and Postcode

  • Nationality

  • Arrival date and Departure date — these two fields are read-only, as they are populated from the reservation data and cannot be modified.

  • Birthday — this field will apply a validation rule to ensure the date is in the past. (Note that the guest will select the date field via three separate dropdown boxes).

  • Document copy — this allows your guest to provide a copy of their identification. When the guest is using a computer, they can only select an existing file. But when using a smart device with a camera, they will have the option of taking a new photo or selecting an existing one.

  • Signature — The guest can sign the form using their mouse, or if using their smart device, their finger. Note that the signature question is automatically the last stage of the form.

💡 If a direct PMS connection is supported, when a guest submits the check-in form, some data for Preset questions may be updated in your PMS (however, the fields that can be updated vary depending on which PMS you are connected to).

Custom questions

Custom questions allow you to create your own questions based on the answer type you need.

Here are the types of Custom questions you can add to your property’s Check-in form:

Text

A custom Text question allows you to create a question using custom Question text, and it has a free text field for the answer.

Email address

A custom Email address question allows you to collect an email address which is not connected to any email address fields in your channels or connectivities. It will feature the same validation rule as a preset email address question to ensure a correctly-formatted email address is provided.

Date

A custom Date question allows you to add a question where the answer will be a date.

You can specify if the available dates should be:

  • All dates;

  • Only future dates;

  • Only past dates.

Drop-down

A custom Drop-down question allows you to add a question where one answer can be selected from multiple options provided via a drop-down menu.

Checkboxes

A custom Checkboxes question allows you to add a question with multiple options able to be selected for the answer, in the format of checkboxes.

Radio buttons

A custom Radio buttons question is similar to a drop-down question, where only one answer can be chosen, however the answer options will be seen in a list that is always visible rather than via a drop-down. This type of question is useful for yes or no questions, or questions with only two or three answer options.

Terms (terms and conditions)

A custom Terms (terms and conditions) question allows you to copy and paste your property's terms and conditions (or similar information), to allow the guest to read and agree to them.

Payment

The Payment question can be added to your Check-in form to request the guest to complete a payment or to prompt them to Save card details.

This question will be the last step for the guest to Complete check-in after answering the questions on the Check-in form).
