Channel Manager - Inventory management with rate plans
Updated over a year ago

The channel manager makes it easy to manage how your rooms are being sold across your booking channels.

There are four key components of the channel manager’s inventory model : room types, rate plans, room rates, and channel rates.

  1. Room types represent the type of accommodation available to your guests. For example, a ‘Queen Room’ is a room type. room types might differ from each other based on physical features such as bed size, a spa or ocean views.

  2. Rate plans represent the different ways your inventory can be sold. For example, ‘Standard Rate’ and ‘3 Night Special’ are rate plans that can be used to sell the same room type in different ways.
Rate plans are differentiated from each other based on settings such as Minimum Stay, Inclusions and the Daily Rate.

  3. Room rates are the combination of a room type and a rate plan. This combination creates an offer that guests can book. For example, if you added the ‘3 Night Special’ rate plan to the ‘Queen’ room type, you’d have the room rate ‘Queen Room / 3 Night Special’ that could be booked by guests.
Room rates inherit the occupancy settings of the room type, and the rate settings, restrictions, and inclusions of the rate plan. These settings can be managed for each individual room rate.

  4. Channel Rates represent the mapped connections between the room rates in the channel manager and those on your booking channels/OTAs.
