Creating a room rate
Room rates represent the combination of a room type and a rate plan. Every time you assign a rate plan to a room type, you create a new room rate.
To assign a rate plan to a room type:
Click on ROOMS & RATES
Click on the RATE PLANS tab
Locate the rate plan you want to assign the room type to
Click Assign Room Type on the right-hand side
Enter the details of your room rate as necessary
Click Save
Your new room rate will appear in the channel manager's Inventory grid and under the ROOMS & RATES tab.
Room Rate Details
When creating or updating a room rate, there are various details you can fill in for this room rate. If a field has a locked padlock it means the value has been inherited from the room type. You can override this value by clicking the lock icon and entering a new value that will apply only to this room rate.
Please note: Any restrictions that you have set for a room rate will only be passed to the connected channels that support those restrictions. For example, if a room rate has a minimum stay of 3 nights but one of your channels does not support min stay updates, it will not be passed to that channel.
Room Rate Details that can be filled in/selected:
Room Type: select the room type you want to assign to this rate plan
Room Rate Description: enter a short description for your new room rate. This description is currently for your use only however in the future we will be able to send this to some of your booking channels
Included Occupancy: the number of guests included in the rate
Max Occupancy: the maximum number of guests allowed in the rate
Default Min Stay: the minimum number of nights this room rate can be booked for
Release Period: the number of days prior to arrival a guest must book.
Default Stop Sell: Select Yes to create a room rate that has a Stop Sell applied for all dates by default.
Availability
Linked to room type: select this to share the room rate 's availability with the room type. So whenever any linked room rate gets booked, the overall availability for the room type and all its linked room rates will reduce.
Managed Independently: select this to manage the room rate 's availability independent of any room type
Inclusions: select the items that you want to include in the rate plan. Choose from: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Rate Setup
Manually input daily rates: Select this if you want to manage this room rate's daily rates independently from other room rates, and adjust them freely.
Derive daily rates from another Room Rate: Select this if you want to link this room rate's daily rate to another room rate. You can select which room rate you wish to link to, and how the room rate should be derived from it. Whenever you adjust the price of the room rate you have selected to derive from, this room rate will automatically update as well.
Mapping a room rate to a channel
You can map a room rate to a channel directly from the room rate in the ROOMS & RATES tab. However, we encourage you to use the CHANNELS tab as you will have a clearer overview of which room rates you have mapped to the specific channel.
To map from the room rate:
Go to ROOMS & RATES
In the Rooms tab, locate the room rate you wish to map and click it
From the menu, select Map to Channel
You will see Unmapped Channels and Mapped Channels
Select the Channel you wish to map this room rate to
Fill in the necessary information and click Save
Editing or deleting a room rate
Please be aware that deleting a room rate in the channel manager will not delete any room rates on your connected channels ' extranets or, if applicable, in your property management system (PMS). Please adjust these as necessary.
To edit or delete a room rate:
Go to ROOMS & RATES
In the Rooms tab, locate the room rate you wish to map and click it
To edit a room rate, click Configure. Update the information as needed and click Save to finish editing
To delete a room rate, click Delete. Review the warning and click Delete
Please note:
Changing the rate of a room rate that is not derived from another rate plan, or changing the restrictions for this room rate will not affect any dates already in the channel manager's inventory. To adjust the existing inventory, please use the Bulk Update tool in the Inventory.
