Set up default your booking engine language

You can select the default language to use for the customer facing booking engine to reach your target audience based on their language.

To set up your default booking engine language:

  1. Click the Setup tab

  2. Select the Property tile

  3. Select the Languages tab

  4. Under Default booking engine Language, select a language from the drop-down menu

  5. Click Save to display your selected language on the booking engine

Note: The following eight languages are available only to the customers using the Modern (Responsive) version of the booking engine. See heading 'Switch to Modern (Responsive) booking engine' within: Manage display preferences in your booking engine

  • Chinese Traditional

  • Korean

  • Swedish

  • Danish

  • Finnish

  • Norwegian

  • Catalan

  • Greek

Set up your default extranet language

To set up your default booking engine's extranet language:

  1. Select the Property tile

  2. Select the Languages tab

  3. Under Default extranet Language, select a language from the drop-down menu

  4. Click Save to display your selected language on the booking engine extranet

Set up additional languages

Complete the following steps to enable translation for generic items such as the buttons, calendar navigation, and property features in your booking engine.

Note: You must set the default booking engine language before continuing.

To set up additional languages:

  1. Click on the Settings tab

  2. Select the Property tile

  3. Click on the Languages tab

  4. Check the boxes for the languages you want to enable

  5. Click Save

Guests will now be able to select from a list of languages in the upper-right of the booking page. You can now add translations for specific items such as your property description, room descriptions, terms and conditions.

Translate property details to another language

To provide a more user-friendly booking experience for your international guests, you can add your own custom translations for your property description, room descriptions, policies etc.
Note: Ensure you have set your default language, and set up additional languages before continuing.

To add custom translations:

  1. Click the Setup tab

  2. Click the Property tile

  3. Navigate to any of the tabs below:

    • Properties > General

    • Properties > Policies

    • Rooms & Rates > General tab

    • Extras > General tab

    • Modifications & Cancellations > Cancellations

  4. Click Choose language in the upper right of the window

  5. Enter your translated text and click Save

  6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 for each tab you want to translate

The translated text will appear in your booking engine when guests select their preferred language.

Note: If any boxes are left blank for the selected language, it will display the default language on the customer page.
