Multi-Property is an enterprise tool that can perform a range of bulk actions at scale. Due to the power and flexibility of these functionalities, you may have some questions about how this system works and how to use it effectively.

Rates

Family tree of Multi-Property rate plan and three property-level rate plans that are linked to it.

How can rate plans be created in bulk?

When you create a rate plan in Multi Property, you can then choose to assign any number of properties to the rate plan. The rate plan will be created for each property automatically and becomes visible in the property’s channel managers.

What is the difference between importing rate plans and assigning properties to a rate plan?

When you import a rate plan, you are linking an existing property-level rate plan with an existing Multi-Property rate plan. In contrast, when you assign a property to a Multi-Property rate plan, you are creating new property-level rate plans on each of the selected properties.

What are overrides?

When a property-level rate plan is linked to a Multi-Property rate plan, its values will be the same as the Multi-Property rate plan. However, it is possible to change its values individually, at the property level by using overrides. An override is a value on a property-level rate plan that “overrides” the value inherited from its Multi-Property rate plan.

Are overrides on property-level rate plans or room rates affected by Multi-Property bulk updates?

No, when you make a bulk update to multiple property-level rate plans, any property-level overrides will continue to override their values, and hence these will not be changed.

➕ For example, if a Multi-Property rate plan is modified to have a Release period of “14”, then all linked property rate plans will be modified to also have a Release period of “14”. However, if one property rate plan has an override on the Release period of “7”, then that property rate plan’s Release period will remain as “7” unchanged.

What happens when I modify a Multi-Property rate plan?

Modifying a Multi-Property rate plan will update all its linked property-level rate plans to reflect the same changes, unless any of them have overrides that prevent certain fields from being changed.

How do I know if an override is applied on a property-level rate plan or room rate?

If a field on a property-level rate plan or room rate contains an override, it will be indicated by the icon of an open padlock when you edit the rate plan or room rate in Multi-Property.

Joining or leaving a portfolio of properties

What to do if a property becomes independent, leaving your chain or group?

If one of your properties becomes independent, please contact us (preferably in advance of the date) and we will provide assistance to make the necessary changes to your setup. The independent platform can maintain its current data and configurations, but will be managed independently of Multi-Property.

⚠️ Once a property becomes independent, Multi-Property users will not be able to access the property anymore.
