Channel Manager - Difference between "disable a channel / room rate" and "stop sell"
Updated over a year ago

What is the difference between Disabling a Channel/Rate and applying a Stop Sell in your inventory?

When you disable a rate or the entire channel from the Channel Manager, the flow of information sent to said Rate/Channel is interrupted.

Any values in your Inventory in the Channel Manager (availability, rates, restrictions) will not be sent to the Channel anymore, but the information that already is in the Channel’s extranet will not be deleted/modified.

Applying a Stop Sell in your Inventory will effectively close that particular rate for the selected date and Channel, so the guests will not be able to book it.

If you wish to stop managing a specific Channel/Rate from your Channel Manager, you can proceed to disable it and continue managing it directly on the Channel’s extranet.

Note: This can cause discrepancies with the other channels currently connected to your Channel Manager

To disable a Channel Rate:

  1. Click on CHANNELS

  2. Select the channel you want to edit

  3. Click on Updates Enabled next to the rate you want to edit

  4. Select NO to Continue Updating Channel

  5. Click Save when you're done
