Review and adjust derived rates for Direct Booking

Important to know:

  • If you are using Direct Booking and Channel Manager, derived rates should only be set up in Channel Manager and not within Direct Booking.

  • To ensure that Direct Booking and Channel Manager are synced correctly and working optimally for your property, plus to ensure we can offer you the latest version of the Channel Manager and Direct Booking, please review and adjust your derived rate configuration by following the steps in this article.

Follow the steps in this article to ensure that any derived rates are configured within your Channel Manager and not within Direct Booking.

If you are using Direct Booking and Channel Manager, derived rates should only be set up in Channel Manager and not in Direct Booking. This is to ensure your room rates in Direct Booking are only being updated from a single source in Channel Manager.

To ensure that Direct Booking and Channel Manager are synced correctly and working optimally for your property, plus to ensure we can offer you the latest version of the Channel Manager and Direct Booking, please follow the steps below to ensure that any derived rates are configured within your Channel Manager and not within Direct Booking.

Review and adjust your derived rates

Follow these steps to review and remove derived rates from Direct Booking, then configure derived rates in Channel Manager.

Remove derived rates in Direct Booking

  1. Go to Direct Booking > Inventory.

  2. Review your derived rates (the chain icon and Master and Dependant labels will show if one rate is being derived from another in Direct Booking).

  3. Click on a derived room rate and go to the Rate Linking tab.

  4. In the Master Room Rate drop-down, remove the selected room rate so the drop-down becomes blank.

  5. Click Save.

Configure derived rates in Channel Manager

  1. Go to Channel Manager > Rooms & Rates.

  2. Click on the dependent rate plan and click Configure.

  3. Go to the Rate Config tab.

  4. Select the option Derive daily rates from another Room Rate.

  5. In the Derive from drop-down, select which rate to derive this rate plan from.

  6. In the Adjust daily rates drop-down, select whether you want to derive the daily rates by a percentage or amount.

  7. Under Percentage adjustment, select whether you want to Increase or Decrease the rate, and enter the amount or percentage.

  8. Click Save.

Derived rates in Channel Manager at rate plan level will apply to all room rates associated with the rate plan, including the rate plan’s direct rates and channel rates.
